A real estate appraisal is an estimate of a property’s value by a licensed appraiser.

The value is calculated by comparing the recent sales of homes in the area, to the home that is being appraised.

The appraiser will complete a visual inspection of the home’s interior and exterior by walking the property and grounds.  They also take the measurements of the buildings on the subject property and complete a sketch for the appraisal report.

A home inspection focuses on the condition of the property, while a home inspection for appraisal focuses on the value of the property.
